Outstanding Teen Information

The Miss Gwinnett County’s Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. A mandatory dress rehearsal for all candidates will be held Saturday September 17, 2022 at 9:00 A.M. in the pageant building at the Fairgrounds. Paperwork is due by September 11, 2022. The following rules and regulations must be met by all candidates:

1. The Miss Gwinnett County Outstanding Teen competition is open to all counties in the state of Georgia. Each candidate must live and attend school in Georgia (must provide proof of residence or school).

2. Teen Age eligibility range is 13 to 18 (must provide copy of birth certificate and year in school). There can be confusion regarding Outstanding Teen age eligibility in some scenarios. The following is taken directly from the Miss America’s Outstanding website:

  •  Must be at least thirteen (13) years of age on the first day of the State Competition in which she competes (June 2023); and
  • Must not be older than eighteen (18) years of age as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she competes.

3. Participate in an 8 minute private interview with the panel of judges (25%). Questions are primarily based upon the candidate’s resume and platform, but may cover additional topics as well. For teens, there is no opening or closing statement.

4. You will wear your interview outfit for the Competition opening number/introductions. Introductions will include candidate number, name and platform.

5. Present a 90 second Talent (35%). Music must be emailed to sdharlow4@bellsouth.net by 9/11/2022. Music will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. There will be NO duplicate selections. Please include title and author of song in your email.

6. Participate in Evening Wear/On Stage Question competition (25%). The teen candidate will first model the gown of her choice and then answer her on-stage question. The on-stage question will be written by the judges immediately following the candidate’s private interview. The question will be asked by the emcee, and the candidate will have twenty seconds to answer.

7. Fitness (15%): Teen candidates will wear a similar fitness outfit as worn at the state competition. Midriff may be shown or covered. Candidates should wear black dance/workout leggings along with a solid colored tank and white tennis shoes. Candidates will complete a set fitness routine as their onstage presentation. The routine will be learned at rehearsal and is to be performed as demonstrated. Click here for video of fitness

8. Furnish a high-resolution digital color head shot (jpeg) for the program book. Please email your picture to rebecca@allegraprints.com by 9/11/2022.
